Summary of Position: The Music Director will lead Una Voce, Community Music Center of Boston’s Adult Chorus. The primary responsibilities include leading the rehearsal and direction of the adult chorus and pianist. The Music Director selects the repertoire that may include repertoire includes international folk music, Spirituals, arrangements of pop/rock songs and musical theatre. Part Time (Tuesday evenings 6:30 – 8:00 p.m.) Reports to: Voice Chair and Aristic Director Specific Responsibilities Select accessible and diverse repertoire for a multigenerational adult chorus of various ages and experience levels. Assist with recruitment, retention, and program development. Conduct weekly rehearsals on Tuesdays from 6:30-8 p.m., aided by a staff accompanist. Prepare chorus to perform minimum of 3 times including at Voice Department Recitals, Performathon and off-site. Maintain attendance sheets and communicate with students and front office staff when multiple absences occur. Essential Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree in Music (Voice, Choral Conducting preferred) or Equivalent Experience Background in voice/vocal training and basic keyboard skills.
