The Belmont Public Schools Music Department anticipates an opening for the 2018-19 school year and are seeking applicants to teach Grades 5-8 Band and General Music. The Chenery Middle School Band program is a well-established program that has been recognized on the district, state and national level for excellence. There are nearly 500 students enrolled in the Grades 5-8 bands, which are co-directed by a team of three instrumental music teachers. The projected responsibilities for this anticipated position include: Grade 5 brass/percussion lessons - Small group instruction Grades 5-8 Bands - Divided co-directing duties Grade 6-8 General Music (not all grades) There may also be opportunities for extra-compensatory teaching after school that may be available depending on the interests and skills of the candidate.
