Description

The Miscoe Hill School is looking for a full-time (1.0 FTE) dynamic, fun, and confident Chorus Teacher. The ideal candidate should have high musical standards and an understanding of the importance of building relationships with students through the joy of singing. The Miscoe Chorus program has well over 200 hundred students participating each school year, with room for growth. Numerous students from this program have been accepted into the Central District Junior Festival as well as the All-State Treble Choir. Teaching responsibilities include: four chorus groups grades 5-8 with 2-4 performances each year depending on the grade level, a stipend auditioned A Cappella group that meets before school, district and all-state audition preparation, performing at festivals/competitions, assisting with the Spring Musical, and teaching some 5th and 6th grade music exploration classes. Applicants should be well-versed in the changing voice and vocal pedagogy, as well as have appropriate piano skills to run rehearsals and provide basic accompaniment.
