Handel and Haydn Society seeks a highly-qualified choral conductor to lead a new ensemble of approximately 25 students in grades 2-4. New Voices is a beginning choral experience for children who show a strong interest in music and a desire to sing. Singers learn how to produce a blended unison sound with healthy tone and how to internalize a steady rhythmic beat and sing rhythm patterns, and are introduced to the choral ensemble setting. Singers develop skills through canons, rounds, partner songs, and unison choral repertoire. This position also serves as Assistant Conductor to the Treble Chorus, an ensemble of students in grades 4-6. The New Voices conductor is part of a team of 15 part-time education faculty members, which includes conductors, musicianship teachers, collaborative pianists, and school-based teaching artists.
