Brookline Music School seeks a full-time dynamic music educator to work closely with faculty, families, staff and the local community to manage private instruction and classes, to develop and oversee curriculum, to lead faculty evaluation process and to collaborate with community partners. The Director of Education reports to the Executive Director.
Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to:
• Private instruction placement
• Facilitation of group class enrollment
• Coordination of accompanists
• School-wide recitals and other events including workshop week and evaluations
• Student progress reports and year-end parent conferences
• Faculty hiring in conjunction with Executive Director
• Teaching observations
CURRICULUM DEVELOPMENT AND PROGRAM MANAGEMENT
• Program analysis, design and implementation
• Strategic plan implementation
ADMINISTRATION AND OUTREACH
• Management of young children and group piano coordinators
• Management of chamber music coordinator
• Education-related website content
• Community partnerships
Brookline Music School seeks an individual with strong administrative and leadership skills as well as exceptional interpersonal and communication skills who loves to be in the center of a vibrant organization. The successful candidate will be self-motivated and have a proven record of management in a music school as well as music teaching and performance experience. He/she will possess excellent computer knowledge including proficiency with automated registration systems and with Microsoft and Google applications. Prior experience with ASAP is a plus. The Director of Education will possess an undergraduate degree in music education, performance or a related music field; a graduate degree or the equivalent is preferred.
