We are excited to announce the MMEA 2025 High School All-State Feasibility Group and we want you to join! This group will meet from 7pm-8pm on the first Thursday evening of the month in October, November, and December via Zoom. We realize there is no good day or time that will accommodate our music educator schedules but we will make sure to engage with the entire membership through surveys and ask those participating to reach out to members in their network for peer feedback.
We will spend time analyzing data from our previous All-State Ensemble experiences including the MMEA line item budget, location comparisons, housing, amount of participants/ensembles, number of rehearsal days, performance venues, student meals, etc. We will also look at how other states in the NAfME Eastern Region facilitate their All-State ensembles and consider different options for how students are selected to participate.
We are starting this process now because the MMEA Executive Board will need to vote on the recommendations from the 2025 Feasibility Group at our January board meeting. This is because many venues book up over a year ahead of time and we need to work on contracts as soon as we have a clear direction for 2025.
