The 2025 Eastern Division Conference will be held from April 24th to 27th, 2025 at the Connecticut Convention Center in Hartford, CT. Along with conference sessions and performing groups, there will be several research components to the conference: a dedicated research poster session and several dedicated session times for research paper presentations.

Music education research is paramount to our profession. The NAfME Eastern Division is calling for research abstracts on topics within the field of music education, action research, performance, music therapy, or other related topics to be reviewed for acceptance for the poster session, a paper presentation, or both.

The Eastern Division Conference draws hundreds of educators from CT, DC, DE, EU, MA, MD, ME, NH, NJ, NY, PA, RI, VT, and beyond. Faculty, graduates, and undergraduates from accredited universities and action researchers are encouraged to apply! Those submitting must be a member of NAfME at the time of submission, and if accepted, must be members of NAfME at the time of the conference.

The application deadline is Sunday, December 1, 2024, 11:59PM EST.

Applications will be blindly reviewed by a committee, and you will be notified if your research has been chosen for the poster session, paper presentation, or both (depending on what is indicated on your application) no later than Thursday, January 2, 2025.
