All-State Grade 4 - 6 Treble Chorus
The mission of the All-State Treble Chorus is to provide a quality honor choir experience for selected students in Grades 4 through 6 who participate in their school’s general music and/or choral programs. MMEA engages the very best conductors who are recognized for their expertise with children’s choirs. The conductors select repertoire appropriate for this age level. Repertoire is varied, of a high-quality, pedagogically sound, and engages the young singer to encourage age-appropriate and expressive singing.

We are excited to announce that our Treble Chorus for 4th - 6th graders will be a teacher-recommended ensemble. This decision was made by the MMEA Executive Board after reviewing the data from the membership survey sent out in the fall. You can review the survey results at the following link https://www.jotform.com/report/23276597609606904.
The ensemble will feature 200 students using a formula that accounts for the total number of students within grades 4-6 of a given school building. We are continuing to think deeply about expanding more opportunities for elementary and middle school grade levels in the next few years.

Papoulis has made significant contributions to choral music by revitalizing the choral repertoire with songs whose roots are classical and world, with voicing that incorporates lead vocalists with choirs, vocal percussion, and world rhythms.
His choral work often is sung from the perspective of the singer, and is constantly inspired by the work he does through the foundation for small voices. He firmly believes that music can heal, educate, celebrate, and empower the lives of children.
Through the Foundation for Small Voices he has conducted songwriting workshops with choirs from the United States, China, Japan, Tanzania, Mexico, Kenya, Newfoundland, Trinidad, Dominican Republic, Haiti, England, Norway, Canada, Spain, Italy, Kenya, Uganda, Turkey, Brazil, France, Ireland, Bosnia, Jordan, Australia, Holland, Dubai, and Greece.
